Have you ever seen this funky little guy? He's called a Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb and if you're someone who's concerned about global warming, you two should really meet! These CFB's are pretty amazing because they are brighter, last YEARS longer, and use a fraction of the amount of energy than your average household light bulb. In fact, if every home in America swapped just one regular light bulb for a CFB, it would save enough energy to light over 3 million homes for a year! It would prevent the emissions of greenhouse gasses equivalent to what over 800,000 cars would produce, AND it would save over $600 MILLION a year in energy costs. Now, how about swapping two?
FYI: Hotels across the country are swapping out their old lighting for CFBs. When you get there, make sure you let management know that you chose their hotel because of their dedication to the environment. Customer support will reinforce their efforts and promote the growth of their environmental programs. | | | Permalink |
