They've already reduced their carbon emissions to 8% of what they were just 15 years ago. Pretty impressive as they're already beating what the Kyoto Treaty is asking for by 1%. Their public transportation system can get travelers and residents alike almost anywhere in the city the need to go. Their fleet includes biodiesel and hybrid buses, a ferry system, monorails, and trolleys; and since cars are unnecessary in Seattle, their carbon output is greatly reduced. The Seattle Farmers Markets are famous for their fresh fish “tossing,” fruits, and vegetables, and the Pike Place Market is the oldest farmers market in the country. Travelers could spend months exploring the outdoor activities of Seattle which range from sailing to hiking to golf to whale watching to scuba diving, and the list goes on.
