Going green is easier than ever in 2009.  There are so many simple ways to make a positive impact on the planet, we should all make a resolution to make 2009 our greenest year ever.

From your everyday life to your vacation plans you can make small changes that can add up to a big difference for the environment.

When You're Traveling:  Look for green travel companies - companies who take the environment into consideration in their daily operations.  Navigate through our site to find and book with green hotels, find green rental cars and hybrid car rentals, and even connect with a great carbon offsetting program to clean up after your trip.  Travel can be a huge contributor to global warming, but keeping the environment in mind when making your travel arrangements can really make a difference.

In Your Car:  Try to keep a set of cloth bags in your car for grocery shopping, or last minute stops to the drug store or mall.  Plastic never decomposes, and the number of plastic bags used on one grocery trip is outrageous.

In The Kitchen:  Get rid of the paper towels.  Switching to reusable towels saves thousands of trees, and will save you money on every shopping trip.

In The Living Room:  Unplug your electronics when you're not using them.  Many people don't realize that electronics like their TV, DVD Player and X Box continuously pull power, even when they're off!  You can save on your electric bill and help keep carbon emmissions out of the atmosphere by simply unplugging them when they're not in use.  Another option here is to use a power strip.  When the strip is off, no power is wasted.

In The Bedroom:  Switch your light bulbs to compact flourescent bulbs or LED bulbs.  They last years longer and use less power than incandescents.  They cost more up front, but you save in the long run by needing less bulbs, and using less power.

In The Laundry Room:  Consider using a clothesline - it keeps your clothes in shape longer and uses zero power.

Everyday:  Live your green lifestyle with pride!  Tell your friends and family about the changes you make and why you make them.  Many people simply don't realize how easy it is to green up.

Try to make at least one or all of these changes and tell us your own green resolutions and we'll post them here.  Let's make 2009 The Greenest Year Yet!

Check out our blog from last year about Green Resolutions for more green ideas.

Great post. Check out this blog post to see why going green is a great way to prepare yourself for a trip to a country that might not have all of the creature comforts your used to. http://travelojos.com/?p=222
