Seacology - Seacology is the world's premier nonprofit environmental organization with the sole purpose of preserving the highly endangered biodiversity and cultures of islands throughout the world.
In the last 400 years the majority of the world's plant and animal extinctions have taken place on islands, leading biologist Dr. Peter J. Bryant to call this unprecedented rate of species extinctions "one of the swiftest and most profound biological catastrophes in the history of the earth."
Seacology searches for WIN-WIN situations where both the local environment is protected and islanders receive some tangible benefit for doing so. We have built many kindergartens, community centers, renewable energy generators and water delivery systems in exchange for the establishment of marine or forest reserves.

Sustainable Travel International -
Sustainable Travel International (STI) is a global leaser in sustainable tourism development. The 501(c)(3) non-profit organizatin's mission is to promote sustainable development and responsible travel by providing programs that enable consumers, businesses and travel-related organizations to contribute to the environmental, socio-cultural and economic values of the places they visit, and the planet at large.
STI is dedicated to providing education and outreach services that will lessen the toll that travel and tourism takes on the environment and local cultures. By providing tangible, solutions-oriented programs, STI is taking a holistic approach to addressing global sustainable development within the travel and tourism industry.

The Ocean Foundation- The Ocean Foundation is the first community foundation for the oceans. Here all the philanthropic tools of a community foundation are focused on ocean conservation. Our mission is to support, strengthen, and promote those organizations dedicated to reversing the trend of destruction of ocean environments around the world.  The Ocean Foundation is a private international grantmaking portal focused exclusively on ocean conservation.  If properly pursued, “engaged, active philanthropy” improves grantee effectiveness.  We do not just give away money.  We serve as a resource: Giving direction, focus, and research, while promoting strategic thinking and collaboration where appropriate.

The Conservation Fund (Carbon Offsetting)-
The Conservation Fund is the nation’s foremost environmental nonprofit dedicated to protecting America’s most important landscapes and waterways for future generations. The Conservation Fund pioneers a balanced, non-advocacy, non-membership approach to conservation, one that blends environmental and economic goals and objectives. Since its founding in 1985, the Fund has helped its partners safeguard wildlife habitat, working farms and forests, community greenspace, and historic sites totaling more than 6 million acres nationwide.

The Nature Conservancy- TNC is the leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.
We're proud of what we've accomplished since our founding in 1951:
• We've protected more than 117 million acres of land and 5,000 miles of rivers worldwide — and we operate more than 100 marine conservation projects globally.
• We have more than 1 million members.
• We work in all 50 states and more than 30 countries — protecting habitats from grasslands to coral reefs, from Australia to Alaska to Zambia.
•We address threats to conservation involving climate change, fire, fresh water, forests, invasive species, and marine ecosystems.

World Wildlife Fund-  For more than 45 years, WWF has been protecting the future of nature. The largest multinational conservation organization in the world, WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by 1.2 million members in the United States and close to 5 million globally. WWF's unique way of working combines global reach with a foundation in science, involves action at every level from local to global, and ensures the delivery of innovative solutions that meet the needs of both people and nature.

Greenpeace -Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action.  Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organisation that acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace by:
•Catalysing an energy revolution to address the number one threat facing our planet: climate change.
•Defending our oceans by challenging wasteful and destructive fishing, and creating a global network of marine reserves.
•Protecting the world’s ancient forests and the animals, plants and people that depend on them.
•Working for disarmament and peace by tackling the causes of conflict and calling for the elimination of all nuclear weapons.
•Creating a toxic free future with safer alternatives to hazardous chemicals in today's products and manufacturing.
•Campaining for sustainable agriculture by rejecting genetically engineered organisms, protecting biodiversity and encouraging socially responsible farming.

The Worldwatch Institute -
The Worldwatch Institute offers a unique blend of interdisciplinary research, global focus, and accessible writing that has made it a leading source of information on the interactions among key environmental, social, and economic trends. Our work revolves around the transition to an environmentally sustainable and socially just society—and how to achieve it.
The credibility and accessibility of Worldwatch research has made our publications popular among a cross-section of society, from government and business decisionmakers to the media, students, and the general public. Since the first Worldwatch Paper was published in 1975, the Institute has broadened discussion of environmental and social issues by analyzing them from a global and interdisciplinary perspective. This has produced fresh angles on the issues of the day, whether they are in the headlines or not.
